The original form of R8 was the Le Mans Quattro concept that shown by Audi at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. Three years later, it was introduced by Audi that they are going to start the production of R8 in Paris. Its shape draws some inspiration from Audi’s heritage including the legendary Auto Union Grand Prix cars of 1930.The side blades are made of the same aluminum that the rest of the body is made up of. The black carbon fiber blade on the red R8 looks stunning. The need for increased air flow for the bigger engine is resolved by bulging out the side scoops in the blades. The headlights are comprised of a full LED array.
Audi is famous for its interiors. Every Audi has an interior i.e. beautifully executed with the excellent materials and outstanding finish. Once you get into Audi R8 you will find that the pedals and the steering wheel are all perfectly aligned with the driver’s seat. All controls of the car fall readily to hand including the gorgeous knurled Aluminum shift knob. All the surfaces are finished with aluminum or carbon fiber while the roof is finished in alcantara suede.
Audi R8 is available with new R8 5.3 FSI V10 that provides 525 hp and 391 pound feet of torque. The test R8 was running on 19 inch Pirelli snow tires which are capable of driving the car through a modicum of Flakes. R8s are available with two transmission choices a conventional manual unit and R-Tronic. R8 is as quiet and free of wind noise as any high end luxury car.
